As there are 2 separate FrostMath classes this year, and they both will be online, the options for registration and payment will change as well.
The registration for the direct instruction class will be different this year. Students must register for blocks of 5 classes. Each block will cover a different topic of math problem solving. The classes will begin with the more basic ideas and advance through more challenging concepts. There are currently 2 other options as well. Taking just the 4 Practice test classes and taking the last 2 classes of each block which are more challenging.
Week 1 - 5 - Counting classes
Week 6 - 10 - Number Theory/Number Sense classes
Week 11 - 15 - Algebra classes
Week 16 - 20 - Geometry classes
Test Days only - Weeks 5, 10, 15, 20 (4 classes @ 2.5 hrs is the equivalent of a block, so it is $350)
First 2 classes of each session (easier) 1, 2, 6, 7, 11, 12, 16, 17 (this option is $560)
Last 2 classes of each session (harder) 3, 4, 8, 9, 13, 14, 18, 19 (this option is $560)
The cost for blocks will be as follows :
The cost for 1 block of 5 classes will be $350
The cost for 2 blocks (10 total classes) will be $675
The cost for 3 blocks (15 total classes) will be $950
The cost for all 4 blocks (20 total classes) will be $1200
The discounts for multiple blocks are because it means less administrative work for me! If you sign up for 1 block of 5 for $350 and later decide to take another block, that block will also be $350. The costs are based on what you are registering for and paying for at that time. So paying for all 4 blocks one at a time would cost $1400. Signing up for all 4 at once saves $200.
An online class should not get cancelled due to snow, but if other unforeseeable issues cause a cancellation, every effort will be made to reschedule the class. Students who cannot attend the make up class will get a refund based on the prorated cost of classes they signed up for.
No Refunds for missed classes. If you are sick or have another commitment you will be able to get the problem set for that day though.
If you wish to cancel an entire session, refunds will be given as follows.
If request is made before session starts there is a $50 fee. If request is made after the 1st class but before the 2nd, there is a $150 fee. No refunds will be given after the 2nd class of a 5 class block.
There will be no exceptions to these policies. They are a result of 7 years of trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. Feel free to email me with questions on this policy.
